Migrate to Cloud

Moving your software to the cloud sounds risky. It doesn't have to be.

We've migrated hundreds of Australian business applications — from office servers, old hardware and other providers — to a properly managed cloud environment. Our process is systematic, tested and outcome focused.

We test thoroughly before you switch over — nothing goes live until you're satisfied
Cutover happens at a time that suits your business — typically outside business hours
We assist your staff and third parties with updated access — you're not on your own

Why migrate now

The longer you wait, the bigger the risk to your business.

Running business-critical software on an office server or aging hardware isn't just inconvenient — it's a genuine business risk. Here are the three most common problems we see, and how migration solves each one.

Single point of failure
A power outage, failed hard drive, flood or fire at your office takes down your entire operation. There's no redundancy, no failover — just an outage and a scramble to recover.
Cloud365 infrastructure runs across redundant systems in enterprise data centres with backup power, climate control and physical security.
💸
Hidden and unpredictable costs
Old hardware needs replacing. Licences expire. Your in-house IT person leaves. The cost of keeping aging infrastructure running quietly compounds — until it suddenly doesn't.
Cloud365 replaces unpredictable IT costs with a single fixed monthly fee in AUD that covers hosting, management, backups, security and support.
🔒
No real backup or recovery plan
"We back up to an external drive once a week" is not a disaster recovery plan. When data is lost or corrupted, businesses discover too late that their backups were incomplete or untested.
Cloud365 runs automated hourly and daily backups to local and remote locations, with regular tested restores — so you know recovery actually works.

Where we migrate from

We handle all types of migrations.

Whether your software is running on a server in the back room, old hardware that's past its prime, or another provider that's let you down — we've done it before and we can do it again.

🖥️
Office or on-premises server
Your software is running on a physical server at your office, warehouse, or in a cupboard — and it's time to get it into a proper data centre environment with real redundancy and management.
Office server On-site hardware Server room Back-of-cupboard PC
⚙️
Aging or end-of-life hardware
Your hardware is old, out of support, or about to fail — and you need to move everything to a modern, reliable environment before it takes the business down with it.
EOL hardware Old servers Legacy systems Aging infrastructure
🌐
Another hosting provider
You're with another provider — but the support is slow, the costs keep rising, or the infrastructure doesn't meet your needs. We migrate you across and take it from there.
Provider migration Switching hosts Overseas provider Cheaper alternative
☁️
AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
You moved to a major cloud provider but the complexity, never ending cost increases and lack of support have become a burden. We offer a managed alternative with fixed pricing and a team you can actually talk to.

Our migration process

Exactly what happens, step by step.

We've refined this process over hundreds of migrations. Every step is designed to give you complete visibility and confidence — and to protect your business from disruption at every stage.

01
Initial conversation & assessment
You tell us about your application — what it does, where it currently runs, and what's worrying you. We ask questions, listen carefully, and give you an honest view of what migration involves for your specific situation.
No jargon, no pressure — this is just a conversation
We review your current environment and document what we find
We identify any risks or complexities before we start
You receive a clear scope and fixed-price proposal
Typically 1–2 business days
02
Environment design & build
Before we touch your existing system, we design and build the destination environment in our Australian data centre — correctly sized and configured for your application, with all supporting services in place.
Server provisioned and configured to match your application's requirements
Backup systems, monitoring, firewall and security all set up from day one
Private network, DNS and domain configuration ready before migration begins
Full documentation prepared for your records
Typically 2–4 business days
03
Data migration & parallel testing
We migrate your application data to the new environment — and run both systems in parallel. This is the critical phase: we don't switch you over until everything is tested and confirmed working correctly.
Application data transferred securely to the new environment
Comprehensive testing of application functionality and performance
Your team can verify the new environment before anything goes live
Any issues identified and resolved before cutover — not after
Typically 2–5 business days
04
Your sign-off
Nothing goes live until you're satisfied. We walk you through the new environment, confirm everything works as expected, and get your explicit approval before we proceed to cutover. This step is non-negotiable.
We demonstrate the new environment to you or your team
You test any critical functions yourself if you wish
We address any concerns before proceeding
At your pace — no pressure
05
Cutover — at a time that suits you
When you're ready, we switch your traffic and users to the new environment. We schedule this at the lowest-impact time for your business — typically an evening or weekend — and stay on hand throughout the process.
DNS and access changes coordinated by our team
Staff access and credentials updated with your users
Third-party systems and integrations updated as needed
Old environment kept available briefly as a safety net
Usually 2–4 hours, outside business hours
06
Ongoing managed service begins
From the moment cutover is complete, your environment is actively managed by Cloud365. Backups are running, monitoring is live, and your team can reach our HelpDesk any time. The hard part is done — now we just manage it.
24/7 monitoring and alert notifications active from day one
Automated backups running on schedule
HelpDesk available for your team at any time
Full infrastructure documentation handed over
Ongoing — included in your monthly fee
Typical total timeline
7–14 days
From initial conversation to go-live. Complex migrations may take longer — we'll tell you upfront.
🛡️
Minimal business disruption
Your existing system stays live throughout the migration. We only cut over once everything is tested and you've given the green light. Most businesses report their team barely noticed the transition.

Migration scenarios

The kinds of migrations we handle every day.

Every migration is different — but the outcomes are consistent. Here's a typical example of what we see, and how it plays out.

Featured migration scenario
Manufacturing company — custom job management system
10-year-old Windows Server in the warehouse · 28 staff depending on it daily
54%
Cost reduction
vs previous setup
The situation before
⚠️Custom job management software running on a 10-year-old server in the warehouse
⚠️Backups to an external USB drive — last tested two years prior
⚠️No monitoring — staff discovered outages when they couldn't log in
⚠️IT support provided by the original software developer — slow to respond
⚠️Hardware approaching end-of-life with no replacement plan
⚠️Business owner worried about "the day it just stops working"
After Cloud365 migration

Migration concerns

The questions we hear most often — answered honestly.

If you've been putting off a migration because of concerns like these, read on. We'd rather address them now than have you sit on a risk you don't need to carry.

What if the migration breaks something? My staff can't work without this software.
?
This is the most common concern — and it's exactly why we run a parallel environment throughout the migration. Your existing system stays live and untouched until after we've thoroughly tested the new one and you've given us explicit sign-off. Nothing is switched over until both you and we are confident it's working correctly. We also keep the old environment accessible briefly after cutover as a safety net.
Our software was built by someone else. Can you still migrate it?
?
Yes — this is very common. We regularly migrate applications built by third-party developers. We focus on the infrastructure: hosting, backups, monitoring and security. If we need to liaise with your developer about application-specific configuration, we're happy to work with them directly. Most developers find working with us straightforward because we communicate clearly and technically.
Will we lose any data during the migration?
?
Data loss during a migration is almost always the result of poor planning — specifically, not having a tested backup to work from and not running a proper parallel environment. Our process eliminates both risks. We back up your data before and during migration, run the new environment in parallel, verify data integrity before cutover, and keep a snapshot of the original environment for a period after go-live.
How long will my team be unable to access the software?
?
For most migrations, the actual cutover window is 2–4 hours and happens outside business hours — typically a Friday evening or Saturday morning at your request. Your team comes into work on Monday and the software is accessible at the new location, usually without them noticing anything has changed. We communicate all access details to staff beforehand to ensure a smooth first login.
We've been on the same setup for 10 years. Isn't it risky to change?
?
The risk of change is real but manageable with the right process — which is exactly what we provide. The risk of staying is less visible but often much greater: hardware that's 10 years old has a high probability of failure, often without warning. Businesses regularly come to us in crisis after a sudden hardware failure, when the migration has to happen under pressure rather than on a carefully planned schedule. A planned migration is always safer than an emergency one.
What if we need to move again in the future?
?
We don't lock customers in. All infrastructure documentation is provided to you, and we don't create artificial dependencies that make leaving difficult. Unlike some providers who build ecosystems designed to make migration out expensive, our model is to earn your business by delivering value — not by making it painful to go elsewhere. That said, our customers rarely leave: our costs are competitive and our service is local.
Getting started

Start with the Basics.

Getting started with a migration doesn't require a technical briefing document or an IT consultant. You just need to be able to tell us a few basic things about your situation — we take it from there.

📝What your application does and how your team uses it
📍Where it currently runs (office server, current provider, hardware type)
👥Roughly how many people use it and when
📅Any timing preferences or constraints (e.g. "not during month-end close")
⚠️Any concerns or requirements that matter to your business

That's genuinely all we need to get started. We'll ask follow-up questions as we go — but we never expect you to hand over a technical specification document.
